Review of Dixie Moore by Lex1

"I rented a duplex at 1501 Fontaine Drive. She lived on one side and I was on another. We shared a part of the basement with a washer and dryer. The duplex itself was nice and spacious. Antique charm and hardwood floors. Rent was reasonable considering the location. The landlord did an excellent job with home maintenance. The duplex has a garage but it is tiny and even a mid-sized sedan feels cramped. The driveway is also very awkward to enter and exit as there is a Curb and turn near the garage. I did have several bad experiences with the landlord which I will state in chronological order. She pulled me aside and asked “if I had a young man over for the night” - which I did my cousin who helped me move in- I felt she was trying to discern my sexuality or accuse me of something... On innumerable occasions she asked what kind of toilet paper I used. I never clogged a toilet during my entire 18 months here. To my knowledge the plumbing seemed to work fine for a 90-year-old home. She insisted on my using “biodegradable toilet paper..” As it was better for the pipes. If any laundry was accidentally left in the washer or dryer. It was thrown on the floor. She washes hers and then she put any laundry found back where she found it. I would come home from work, having left for work and placed clothes in the washer. Only to find them In a wet pile on the floor. She entered my duplex unannounced on numerous occasions. I would return home and find things moved. My wife even returned home early from work and found her in the kitchen - unannounced. She would make up excuses to come over on about a once-a-month basis to “check on something”. On several occasions she would come over without 24 hours notice. She openly admitted to discriminating against couples. I decided not to reapply to extend my lease as she said “I don’t rent to couples.” I should note- we did not move in together until well after I rented the duplex. She informed me that she prefers young single professionals who stay busy. I am all of those but single now. Overall I’m glad that we did not stay/could not stay with Dixie at the duplex on Fontaine. She did not respect us as a family or our right to privacy as tenants. We no longer felt comfortable at that location. However, we enjoyed the physical space and neighborhood."

Review of John Rubino by KoldGlaze

"I honestly think that John Rubino at Park Hills is the nicest landlord I have ever had. I have heard mixed reviews about Anderson Communities, but have never had any issues that weren't resolved quickly here. The grounds are well taken care of, mowed every Thursday with weather permitting. Communication about Covid and other property updates were sent through the mail and printed/hung on door. I have never felt unsafe here."

Review of Kaufmann Properties by Anonymous

"This has been a few years ago now (circa 2015). I rented in an old building in a 1-bedroom that was really a studio due to poor ventilation in the back “bedroom.” It was clean. Maintenance came in every single month to “check the air filter” which I found invasive, other than that I never had to interact with them. I ended up moving out early and tried to have a friend take over my lease, but they refused to finish her application because of her verbal disclosure of a previous eviction several years prior in another state. Don’t remember whether I got my deposit back."

Review of Andrew Potts by kystudent

"My landlord tried to make me move apartments and leave me homeless for 2 weeks even though it was not in the lease agreement. When people came in to fix issues with and clean the apartment - with no notice, mind you, they left my door open so anyone could come after the left, they left trash on my doorstep, and they left all of the lights on - I pay for electric. Every time I have tried to contact him, I get no answer and he never returns my calls or emails. The one time I was able to speak to him, he was very rude and would often cut me off when talking to him."

Review of Jim Arnold – Idle Hour, 40502 ★★ "He was understanding in many situations, but the gutter/siding above the door outside broke off and it was months before it was fixed. The building didn’t have fire alarms. He requires written notice WELL in advance before your lease ends if you want to move but doesn’t point… Continue reading Review of Jim Arnold by OCH

Review of Hardin Properties by anon

"Hardin Properties was very professional to work with. Our unit was newly renovated so everything was brand new and clean upon moving in. Maintenance was very friendly and completed repairs quickly. Office was across the street from us on Lexington Ave which made it convenient to handle anything in person. They claimed to tow in the lot without a sticker, but always gave warnings prior and rarely had anyone even check. We had an ESA which they accommodated without any hassle. The only issue we had was during move out we had a significant chunk withheld from our security deposit. Being that everything was new when we moved in I believe we were unfairly docked for "damages" that were moreso normal wear and tear."
