“Carol is a pleasant woman. She is not up in the resident’s business but still takes very good care of the property. Since I’ve been living here (I moved in August 2018) a lot of work has been done to the property including removing falling / rotting trees and landscaping that could be dangerous, painting the front door and making the building look more inviting, and she has someone come in and clean the stairwell areas at least 1-2 times a year. Anytime I’ve had an issue - which, in 3 years really hasn’t been that many because the 100+-year-old property is well maintained, she responds to my texts as soon as possible and gets a professional out to take care of it within 48 hours usually. Pest control usually comes quarterly if not more frequently to spray the apartments to make sure there are no bugs. Since I’ve lived here I have seen 0 bugs other than little gnats in the summer. Not even really any spiders. My partner and I plan to live here until we buy a house.”

Overall, I would not rent from Burton Property again. While Micah made some generous accommodations for us during a frantic period of time during the pandemic, the lack of communication and professionalism were serious problems and threatened our safety and security. If I could have gone above his head to whoever actually owns Burton Property (we never met or contacted anyone with the name Burton or even had any idea how we could find this info), I would have reported Micah and how his behavior comes across to tenants. If you want a very, very hands-off, independent renting experience, then Micah and Burton Property might be right for you, but if you need any information, communication, or assistance whatsoever, then I say godspeed to you, and may your prayers fall upon ears more acute than Micah Poston's.

“Our $910 total rent for a two-story townhouse, two bed townhouse is one of the best steals I’ve found in Lexington, but the real strength of Creeks is their leasing office. Lauren Sturgill, the leasing agent, is personable, responsive to concerns and questions, and works diligently to find everyone the best space for them. She’s amazingly communicative and endlessly helpful. The maintenance also responds quickly to issues, and is friendly and open to answer questions or explain their solutions. I don’t think I’ll rent from anyone or anywhere else as long as I’m in Lexington.”

“So far we are pleased with this community. They are leagues better than our previous apartment. I was surprised to read the negative comments on other Merrick Place reviews, but I also cannot defend them. In my experience the maintenance staff are great folks. Our rent is reasonable and the property is well maintained. I can see living here for years.”

“Though it's a property group, my main contact/landlord was Joe. He was friendly, and mostly hands-off during my living there. At the same time, I could submit an order for maintenance online and have the issue looked at the very next morning. The rent was due in a secure drop-box near campus, so there was no interaction with the landlord about rent, except when he returned my security deposit. I had a very pleasant living experience.”
