Review of Birge & Held by Can’t Complain

"Lived here for 2 years, from 2015-2017. It was fine. The office always had rotating staff, so I don't think I spoke to the same assistant twice, but I can't recall a time when they upset me or stepped on our toes. On the flip side, they also were pretty hands off and never did anything that made them exceptional or made us feel valued or appreciated. Pretty average all around."

Review of Bob Peterson by Polka Dot Pants

"The Peterson family are the kindest landlords I've had in either Lexington or Louisville. Bob can often be seen driving around the complex and picking up fallen branches and litter, and he will give you a friendly hello and ask if everything is okay. His son Jesse handles new leases and tours, and he's approachable and professional. They really do try to make our little community safe, clean, and as welcoming as possible, and they are proactive upon receiving feedback (we needed new washing machines, and they agreed and replaced them all within a reasonable time frame). Plus they host community events and door decorating contests to make you feel a bit closer to your neighbors. 10/10, grab an apartment here if you can."

Review of Newtown Crossing Apartments by NewReviewer

"Terrible experience living in these apartments. The only good part about them is that they are close to the UK campus. Maintenance and other office staff would enter our apartment whenever they wanted without a 24 hour notice. It made me feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. There were constantly ants everywhere even with no food or anything lying around. The managers are so disrespectful and rude. They do not care about your wellbeing. They just care about sucking money from you. They were also doing work on the roof for two weeks straight before finals week and it was extremely loud. There was constant stomping and music playing during this time. I also filed a complaint about our neighbors because they constantly had parties and were loud 24/7. NOTHING was done. Do NOT live here."

Review of Mark McFarland by Plant1fish

"Mark is a rare find when it comes to landlords. He started managing properties as a way to make sure his own kids have decent housing while attending UK. This means that property management isn't his main job and that he's not in it to get rich. I couldn't have asked for a better landlord in terms of understanding and willingness to work with people. There admittedly is the downside that he's not doing this full time and therefore maintenance requests are a bit slow, but he also doesn't cheap out on solutions. When our oven broke, he replaced it with a way nicer model than before and didn't even ask if it was our fault or take any of the deposit."

Review of PVH Real Estate by gc47635

"The landlord wasn’t an issue since he was impossible to get in contact with...it was the property manager, Allison, that was the issue. She was extremely disrespectful to tenants, played favorites, and even stole from at least one tenant. The building was clearly falling apart but any issues were immediately the tenant’s fault instead of the possibility that the issues were due to the property being old and not maintained. Most repairs by her were made with duct tape. She continuously entered apartments unannounced and would threaten to ignore work orders if you didn’t do exactly what she wanted."

Review of Hayley Boyd by Unsatisfied

"She will respond to inquiries late. She will set meetings and then not attend. She will not follow up with any correspondence. She will not have the correct contact information. And, she will not pay attention to you (make eye contact, etc.) when speaking about housing matters. 0/10 would not recommend."

Review of Lana McKinley by L

"Lana has been nothing short of awesome! My partner and I moved into an apartment complex she manages and we have loved it here. Any time we have had an issue, Lana is immediately on top of it. She is very serious about pest control, and so this has never been an issue. I have seen roach infestations elsewhere and I feel super fortunate that Lana does not let that happen to her properties. She is always super sweet and quick to respond, and remembers little details about my partner and I - which is important to me personally, because it levels out the power dynamic between tenant/landlord and makes her very approachable. We moved from a 1 bed to a 2 bed in the same apartment complex and Lana made it a super easy transition for us. I cannot recommend her enough ! Every apartment complex has its quirks of course, and I have my share of inconveniences, but when it comes down to it, you cant beat affordable housing with a lovely property manager like Lana."

Review of Anderson Communities by frisco175175

"Anderson Communities is the shithole of the city. Squirrel infestation in the building was dealt with after 3 months of being kept up all night and literal holes being made in my ceiling. Took them 3 months to call in a real animal control company. First unit they moved me into had urine-soaked carpets so they conveniently moved me to a more expensive unit with no discount from my previously agreed-upon unit and rent. The campus office is rude as hell and doesn't even pretend to care about renters. They towed my car after not giving me a parking pass, and it took numerous phone calls to even get reimbursed for that. I was told numerous times that issues with the apartment "weren't their problem" and hung up on. Stay away at all costs, there's not too many brain cells over there."
