“I have been renting here for almost one year and have had many problems. When I moved in, the apartment was still dirty (cleaning it is apparently the duty of the previous tenant, and if they don’t do a good enough job, you’re shit out of luck). My fire alarm wasn’t connected, which the property manager didn’t believe at first until she dropped by to check for herself. She told me it would take several days to fix, which is unacceptable because the alarm is connected to other alarms in the building so I’d know if there was a fire anywhere. I had to go out and buy my own and install it, and I was reimbursed. There was also a bad patch job where someone had cut into the floor to install something that was caving in – I needed the wood planks there to be reinforced so my foot didn’t go through the floor. Now, I have two major cracks in my bathtub. Maintenance keeps sealing it but the seals only last a few days and then reopen. The entire unit needs replacement, but management refuses. The tenants below my apartment are experiencing extensive water damage and leaking in the area my tub is, as well as throughout the rest of their apartment. They had their heating break in February and it wasn’t fixed until the summer. Another tenant had to throw out furniture due to mold growth on it because of water damage. Phil is kind and seems to treat tenants with respect, but his actions don’t match his words. Overall, it seems that Phil doesn’t really care about the conditions that his tenants live in, or he prefers to remain blissfully unaware while he sits back and rakes in the money from all of his properties.”
